The project

Learning engineered for the attention economy

A big library is not enough on its own. The experience has to fit into the day of someone who has five minutes and a phone.

Headway is a consumer EdTech app that turns nonfiction books into bite-sized ideas.

Branditify worked on its mobile experience: a microlearning product built around those bite-sized ideas, a personalised experience, and repeatable daily learning habits.

The difference is the unit. Not a whole book, and not an endless feed, but bite-sized ideas in short sessions.

What is Headway?

Replace scrolling with microlearning

The same few minutes, spent differently

Headway competes with the feed for a few spare minutes. The product keeps the feed’s ease and swaps what fills those minutes.

Instead of

A scroll

Endless, easy, and gone by the time the phone is put down.

A few minutes of

A session

Bite-sized ideas from a nonfiction book, in a session of a few minutes.

  • Short sessions

Sized for the gaps in a day, not an evening.

  • Clear ideas

    Bite-sized ideas from nonfiction bestsellers.

  • Daily momentum

Built to be repeated tomorrow, and the day after.

What is the microlearning experience?

Short sessions built around bite-sized, clear ideas from nonfiction books, sized to fit the spare minutes people usually spend scrolling.

How does the interface support short learning sessions?

By keeping each session short and built around clear, bite-sized ideas, so there is a natural place to stop and a reason to return the next day.

Personalisation

Ideas that fit the person reading them

The product experience incorporates personalisation, so it is shaped around the person using it rather than being the same for everyone.

How does personalisation appear in the product?

As part of the experience: the ideas and sessions a person sees are shaped around them, rather than the same list for everyone.

Did Branditify build Headway’s recommendation technology?

That is not part of this case study. The work described here is the mobile experience, not the technology that chooses what each person sees.
